Description
Sold here as a surfer babe portrait and titled Pacific Reverie, this is a much quieter picture than either name suggests: a figure lying flat on a paddleboard, resting, on water so still it has no texture at all.
Almost every surf photograph is about a wave. This one has no wave in it. What is left when the water goes flat is a horizontal figure on a horizontal board on a horizontal surface, three parallel lines and a lot of dark tone, which is closer to a landscape study than to sports photography.
Pacific Reverie, and what it leaves out
Long low compositions with a lot of dark tone hang well over furniture, where the horizontal repeats the line of a sofa or a headboard. It is the calmest frame in this collection and the easiest to live with in a bedroom. It also works as the still half of a pair with any of the coastal action frames here.

Flat water, which is most of the sport
Paddling makes up the overwhelming majority of time spent on any board, and flat water is where the balance is actually learned, which is why a picture of the waiting is more representative than a picture of the ride. The discipline is described at Wikipedia.
