The short version. The space you live in should be an extension of what moves you. We curate and produce archival prints — vintage heritage, minimalist form, and the images that hold their pull — and every one is made after you order it, then shipped tracked and free, anywhere in the world.
Our story
Montclair Collective started from a simple conviction: a blank wall is a decision you have not made yet. Most of what is sold to fill one is filler — printed by the thousand, chosen by nobody, hung because something had to go there.
We were more interested in the other kind of image. The frame that stops you. A shape you would recognise in silhouette. A moment someone was in exactly the right place to catch. Those images earn their wall, and they deserve to be printed like they matter.
What we look for
Every piece is chosen to give a room character without shouting over it. The through-line is not a subject — it is a sensibility: heritage, restraint, and an image with something to say.
- Motorsport and automotive — the machines, the drivers and the moments that made the names worth remembering, from Formula 1 cockpits to the silhouettes you would know in the dark.
- Black-and-white photography — our largest collection, and the one that ages best. Form, contrast and shadow, with nothing left in the frame that does not belong.
- Vintage and editorial — heritage imagery and fashion-led work that carries a mood rather than a message.
- The quieter pieces — botanical studies, landscape and stillness, for the walls that should settle a room instead of charging it.
Every print is offered in a range of sizes — the exact ladder is listed on each product page, in inches and centimetres — so a piece is scaled to your wall rather than your wall worked around the piece. Browse the current collection to see what is available today.
How we print it
A well-chosen image is only half of it. We hold every print to the same standard: premium, sustainably sourced heavy-weight paper, a rich non-glare finish that holds detail in shadow without bouncing your lighting back at you, and pigment inks laid down at 300 dpi so fine detail stays fine.
Non-glare matters more than people expect. A glossy print is a mirror the moment a lamp or a window is anywhere near it — the darker the image, the worse it gets. Matte gives the image back to the room.
Made to order, on purpose
Nothing is printed until somebody buys it. When your order lands, that specific file goes to the press, is produced individually, checked, packed flat and despatched.
The trade-off is plain. You wait a little longer than you would for something pulled off a shelf. What you get for the wait is a print made for your order and nobody else’s: no warehouse stock, no print sitting in a box for a year hoping to be sold, and no pressure on us to discount old inventory to clear it.
Made to order. On the press within 72h, then 8–13 days tracked. Estimated arrival: 15–20 Sep, shipping included. Worldwide, and the shipping already sits inside the price you saw, so checkout adds nothing on top.
Made to order, so the window to change your mind is short: you can change or cancel for 12 hours after ordering — email info@montclaircollective.com with your order number. After that it is on the press.
Made for the discerning eye
Collectors, creators and people who care what is on the wall. The common thread is not budget or taste in subject — it is caring enough to choose, rather than to fill.
If that is you, the collection is built to help you make a room feel curated and deliberate. Distinctly yours, rather than distinctly ours.
If something arrives wrong
Damaged, defective, or not the print you ordered: email info@montclaircollective.com within 7 days with your order number and one photo. There is nothing to post back — you keep the print — and where there is a genuine fault the usual answer is a reprint and reship at our cost.
Because every piece is produced for one order, we cannot take back a change of mind once it is on the press — and you have 12 hours after ordering to change or cancel. If you would like a second opinion on which size suits your wall, we are happy to give one before you order.
Timings, cancellations and the full guarantee are set out on the Returns & guarantee page.
