La historia de la obra
“The city looks calmest from across the water.”
— Shazard R.

The city sits low across the water in soft evening light, the CN Tower rising above the towers of downtown. In the foreground a single sailboat rests at anchor and the rocks of the shore frame the bottom of the picture.

A portrait of the city from a distance, where the skyline becomes one long shape and the water does the rest.

Shazard R.

Toronto, Canada Fashion, editorial & cinematic

Shazard R. is a Toronto photographer with fifteen years of professional work behind the camera, most of it in fashion and editorial. Those years built an eye for light, posture and the moment just before or after a pose.

Away from commissions, Shazard's own work leans cinematic: silhouettes held against the last of the light, portraits that read like stills from a film, and quiet studies of the city and its waterfront. The prints in this collection come from that personal archive, each one made to order and signed.
