“Blue hour asks you to wait, then gives you almost nothing to work with. That is the point.”— Shazard R.
The light is almost gone. A single figure stands at the water's edge, cut out against a sky where the warm band at the horizon is giving way to blue. The clouds have darkened and the water holds a faint reflection of what is left.
It is a picture made of very little: a horizon, a figure and the few minutes when the sky turns from gold to blue. On Hahnemühle Photo Rag the shadows stay deep and the blues stay soft.

Shazard R.
Shazard R. is a Toronto photographer with fifteen years of professional work behind the camera, most of it in fashion and editorial. Those years built an eye for light, posture and the moment just before or after a pose.
Away from commissions, Shazard's own work leans cinematic: silhouettes held against the last of the light, portraits that read like stills from a film, and quiet studies of the city and its waterfront. The prints in this collection come from that personal archive, each one made to order and signed by hand.
